Billy Boyd anyone? [05 Oct 2007|12:27pm]

pippins_penny
All you lucky Scots have the chance to see and hear Billy's new band Beecake.  They have been performing all around the UK and are really  wonderful.

Billy's voice and range is amazing.  He also writes their songs, he has a great talent.  If you saw The Lord of the Rings, you got a glimpse of his sweet, clear voice.  The band has a MySpace check out their music  there and a list of upcoming gigs are below.  Go if you can, you wont regret it.  And Billy and his band mates are some of the friendliest nicest group of men I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

Mind the Gap

All-American Gap is getting a European twist, with edgier, slimmer designs to suit tastes on this side of the Atlantic

Heya!! I'm a new member here! I joined for obvious reasons...but I'm not too lazy to repeat the fact that I absolutely love Scottish men...their accents = to die for and the kilt thing = wowee! :)

I honestly can't pick a favorite...I'm a Ewan fan-girl, as well as a Kevin McKidd fan-girl...and did I mention Iain De Caestecker (someone finally my age, isn't that great?)

And tonssss more. <3

I recently got back from Scotland and can even post some pics of non-famous men in kilts if it tickles anyone's fancy ;D plus I have some video footage of bagpipe players if that's anyone's thing...:)

Bring me the Tartan Spartan NOW!

Truly. Gerard Butler. Hottest Scot ever made :-9

This chick moment brought to you by an obsession with warrior flicks, yummy Glaswegians, and the new trailer for Frank Miller's 300.

'Takin' Over the Asylum' [17 Aug 2006|11:08am]

[ mood | satisfied ]

After years of diligent searching (it's a hobby, but I digress) I finally have in my hands, fresh from a kind archivist at BBC Scotland, three DVDs containing all six aired episodes of a baby Angus Macfadyen's (as well as current 'Dr. Who' portrayer David Tennant's) 'Takin' Over The Asylum' -- and a brilliant and well worth waiting for series it is ("Fergus! Fergus! Fergus!").

If anyone would like for me to burn off VCD copies of same for them, please contact me at alvakeelfan @ aol.com so that I can get your mailing info, etc.

P.S. Mullets rule.

Here's a little treat for you who love Scotsmen, and British men too. It's the schedule and info for the BBC America "Shakespeare Retold" movies. Some of them are already gone, alas, but hopefully they will be on DVD by Christmas. Check out the community obasc (that's "Obscure British Actor Squee Consortium") for more on James McAvoy as well as, say, Damian Lewis, a wonderful chap who is nonetheless not Scottish.

Photographs of Henry Ian Cusick , who is 1/4 Scottish, 1/4 Irish, and 1/2 Peruvian.

He has a Scottish accent, and was trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Glasgow since he was a teenager.

Listen to his Voice at lostdesmond.com..lovely accent i should add
Henry Ian CusickCollapse )

David Tennant [13 Jul 2006|11:51am]

Woo. It's been almost forever and a day since I've posted.

It came to my attention that David Tennant, the 10th Dr. Who, is not on the interests list for this community. Which is a shame because..

Well...

Just look hereCollapse )

Almost makes me want to watch Dr. Who, and I'm not even a fan of the show.
